"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I don't like admins moving my stuff because they don't think it's pixel art. Everything is pixelled in MSpaint - how much more pixel art could it be? Deviantart is just too slow anyway.

pixelerate should do for the time being, i suppose. it seems like pixelation's not gonna be up again too soon, they're allegedly writing their own board-code or so.
the latent medium board is a nice little hangout too, not so busy (i.e. hardly any traffic ) and also not so fond of their 'standard' so to speak
anyway, you'll have to find out yourself if you like the way the boards are run
